Marjorie Cann, Past President 1959 - 1961

Marjorie Cann was the eighth president of Beta Pi Omega Chapter.  Her tenure was from January 1959- September 1961.  She was initiated into Pi Chapter in 1940 at Fisk University where she received her degree.  Cann completed her Master's at Ohio State.  During her tenure, the chapter continued to have “Fashionetta” and also participated in the PanHellenic Council.  Cann recalled the close friendships which developed from having to work so hard together.  She said that Beta Pi Omega even had a designated “Party House”--Countess Powell’s home.  Members met there to eat, drink, play cards, and have a good time.
