Mary Louise Torrence was the tenth president of Beta Pi Omega Chapter.  Her tenure was from January 1965- December 1968.  She first attended a Junior College and then obtained a degree in Social Work at the Arkansas A M & N College (now the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff).  There she was inducted into Alpha Rho Chapter.  She completed her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.  During her tenure, she pushed service projects even more.  The chapter worked with the youth services project, sponsored a “read-a-thon”, and gave “campships.”  Her focus was on Beta Pi Omega being known as fostering service to mankind through helping others.
